We are looking for a receptionist/administrator to join a friendly and professional computer support company. The ideal candidate should have experience in dealing with customers face to face, over the telephone and by email. You should be an excellent team player, self-motivated and able to work on your own initiative when needed. This would be a great opportunity to develop your computer knowledge and sales skills.

Working closely with our general manager you will be responsible for:

– Greeting customers
– Administration tasks
– Responding to client emails
– Answering client telephone calls and directing them where needed
– Taking accurate messages
– Booking in jobs using a dedicated computer management system
– Ensuring that the shop is presentable and well stocked
– Pro-active selling of IT goods and services such as laptops, desktops, printers, anti-virus and backup services

Essential Skills:

– A friendly and professional manner
– A good command of both written and spoken English
– Accurate record taking ability

Desired Skills:

– An aptitude for sales and a desire to meet targets.
– It would be advantageous to have an understanding of modern computers, software and services, however this is not essential as full training will be provided for the right candidate.
– Previous experience of working within the IT industry would be advantageous

Description
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a 3rd Line IT Support Engineer to join one of the largest independent computer support companies based in Oxford.

Unlike other ICT support companies in Oxford, we support both home and business customers with advice from viruses and hardware issues to Servers and Infrastructure design. Based in our new shop we now have over 20 technicians each with their own unique skills that give customers an unsurpassed knowledge base. The successful candidate should be able to work independently and as part of a team.

The 3rd Line IT Support Engineer will be responsible for helping both private and business customers with a broad spectrum of IT technical issues.

Duties will include: Receiving and responding to problems from customers via email, phone and chat Identifying, researching, and resolving customer issues using available resources. Following-up on customer problems not immediately resolved and recommend solutions to fulfil requirements and solve problems. Providing support to junior IT engineers.

The successful 3rd Line IT Support Engineer will have the following experience and skills:

Previous experience working in a similar role

Microsoft Server and Desktop operating systems (2003/2008/2008R2/SBS/2012 Server/XP/Vista/7/8)

Core Microsoft Infrastructure technologies and solutions (Exchange, IIS, AD, RDS)

Virtualisation

Hyper-V, VMWare, Backup technologies and Server hardware maintenance.

Support Engineer

The candidate would be working in our Server/Network support team, working on Windows Server/Linux/VMWare and network projects & issues.

The Support Engineer will join our highly skilled Server/Network Support Team working together to resolve business-critical IT issues. Playing a key role, the successful Support Engineer will have the opportunity to develop a broad range of technical skills, from network administration to software maintenance.

Based in Oxford the Support Engineer role is commutable by car from many towns and cities in Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Wiltshire and Buckinghamshire.

As the Support Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • 1st, 2nd and 3rd line IT support to our clients
  • Deliver a high quality service using systems engineering best practice
  • Problem analysis & resolution across a wide range of systems, services, applications and technologies.

Requirements of the Support Engineer

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a confident, friendly and helpful manner.
  • Natural problem-solving abilities and a methodical approach to tasks.
  • A genuine interest in being involved in the IT operations environment.
  • The eagerness and capacity to quickly learn new systems and technologies.
  • Prior experience in systems support and administration is not essential

Onsite Vacancy

As an onsite computer repair technician you will install, maintain and repair computer systems and equipment.

The successful candidate will join us on a full time, permanent basis and will receive a competitive salary.
You will work with private individuals up to Contracted businesses often as a standalone technician and on occasion as part of a team.

Your day-to-day tasks would include:
• visiting home users and businesses to set up PCs, fix faulty equipment, installing new IT systems , home or business networks
• upgrading existing hardware and software
• testing systems to make sure that they are working properly, routers and access points etc
• preparing cost estimates for new/replacement hardware

Desired requirements:
• Excellent customer service skills with a desire to go above and beyond to solve clients technical challenges
• An understanding of server and networking technologies and how client devices interact with them
• The ability to articulate at a technical level appropriate to the circumstances – e.g. for clients with varying levels of IT knowledge & competence
• The ability to understand clients technical requirements when described by clients who are using everyday language
• A real passion for IT with a desire to stay abreast of new technologies.
• Successful candidates must be self-sufficient in their day to day duties with an ability to work well unaided on technical activities
