We are looking for a Customer Service Representative / Receptionist with some experience (preferably in the IT industry – however not essential)

Our company provides computer repairs and sales as well as managed IT services to a variety of corporate and home customers. You would be working in a team of five people who provide exceptional customer service to a very loyal customer base, hinged on a 27-year service excellence reputation in Oxford.

Responsibilities include managing all incoming customer inquiries and concerns, ensuring provision of suitable service and information, or directing clients to relevant departments, as necessary. Additionally, addressing unresolved issues by escalating them to management, resolving customer complaints, and facilitating refunds when required. Maintaining precision in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems by inputting and revising client details, verifying product and service availability, processing payment transactions, and consistently adhering to company policies and procedures during customer interactions (In Person or on the phones). Key Skills:

  • Raising support tickets to enable tracking and resolution of customer requests.
  • Investigating and resolving customer complaints then closing support tickets
  • Maintaining a database of customer information
  • Escalating inquiries to the appropriate team, when necessary
  • Checking product or service availability
  • Assisting customers with registration or account creation
  • Passing customer feedback onto the product or sales team to improve the organisation’s offerings.
  • Booking in repair jobs, following up and responding to clients.

Skills and qualifications:

  • Excellent interpersonal and active listening skills
  • Clear communication skills and a strong command of the English language
  • Attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of customer relationship management (CRM) tools
  • Ability to work well in a team.
  • Multitasking skills and good organisational abilities
  • In-depth knowledge of customer relationship management (CRM) principles
  • Ability to work calmly under high stress situations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office (Excel Word etc.)

What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers and scanners
  • Planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance upgrades
  • Setting up accounts for staff, ensuring that they know how to log in
  • Solving password problems
  • Talking to clients and computer users to determine the nature of any problems they encounter
  • Responding to breakdowns
  • Investigating, diagnosing, and solving computer software and hardware faults
  • Repairing equipment and replacing parts
  • Supervising junior engineering and technical staff
  • Obtaining replacement or specialist components, fixtures or fittings
  • Checking computer equipment for electrical safety
  • Maintaining records of software licenses
  • Managing stocks of equipment, consumables, and other supplies

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

IT Solutions Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard:

The Level 3 IT Solutions Technician programme is designed to provide the knowledge and skills to develop, implement and maintain complete IT solutions, including their hardware infrastructure. IT Solutions Technicians apply a professional methodology or framework to gather and analyse the requirements in order to design, develop, test and implement the most appropriate IT solutions.

This programme offers two pathways that provide the underpinning knowledge and skills in either a Hardware Solutions role or a Software Solutions role.

The structured part of your apprenticeship training will be provided by JBC Skills Training, we are a specialist technical IT training provider.

You will also learn on-the-job, working alongside experienced colleagues.
